My brother and I pooled our money into getting a semi-expensive camera. (Bro describes it as high-end personal, low-end pro.) All of us kids want a nice camera to develop our skills before we go into the really expensive stuff, so we're getting one to share. That way I can take pictures for sketching and for fun; one brother can spam Instagram, or whatever it's called, with pro wannabe photos; and the another brother can create his own HQ textures for his 3D graphics. (I have three brothers. None of them are named Darrell.)

Now we're going crazy waiting for it to ship. We can't wait to start taking pictures of everything we see!

I've been in a writing slump for way longer than I want to admit lately. I'm slowly, very slowly, dragging myself out of that rut. Basically, I've been frozen by fear of letting my story and characters down. Ever get the feeling that your imagination dwarfs your skill, and you can't do justice to your ideas? I've got it, and I've got it bad.

Maybe trying to narrate the story from four main POVs is affecting my overall morale?

Yeah, that's gotta be it. I couldn't go easy on myself and come up with a single-POV story, now could I? *facepalm* Stupid muse. I shouldn't be killing my brain with four POVs this early on.

In order to help myself relax, and also just to enjoy some fresh eyes and feedback, I've joined [livejournal.com profile] writerverse. (The fanfic plotbunnies won the long, arduous battle inside my brain. I held out for a while, but only for a while.) So, if fanfic posts start eclipsing icon posts, that is why. :)

My family and I finished Season 6 of Supernatural a while ago. (We blazed through all those seasons in about a month and a half. Addicted much? YES!) We're half-dying waiting for Season 7 re-runs to revert back to the first episode. I need my Winchester fix NOW. Or Cas. Cas will do, too.

And . . . I'll close with a Loki GIF. Because I cannot begin to say how obsessed I am becoming. (Being obsessive is such hard work sometimes, especially when you're juggling a ton of obsessions.) Anyone else on my f-list love Loki?

Thanks for the B-DAY wish.

Beyond jealous. I see a camera I like and always have to deal with the fact that it will not happen any time this decade.

I have this epic story in my head (at least, epic to me) and I feel way too overwhelmed by it to ever start writing it properly. And it is a fantasy, which makes it worse because that is a genre I have only gotten into a few years ago. And ideas keep changing..... Ugh. When I am old and retired and have all the time in the world for it, I might attempt it. I can barely put together straight short articles right now. Too much worry over biased reporting and insufficient evidence....
WRITING.

I started Supernatural and couldn't stop watching it until one day, all of a sudden, I lost interest. I am not sure why....

Who is Loki? People keep bringing him up but I have no idea who the guy is, except for the mythological one.

It's the same with me! The only reason I'm still writing is my love for stories. Stories are my life.

Loki's a character in the superhero movies Thor and The Avengers. (Loosely based off the mythological one.) He goes to the Dark Side in Thor, and then menaces Earth in The Avengers. I usually don't like superhero movies much, aside from the Batman movies, but these two movies are great!

You are not alone...I've pretty much given up on any long works of fiction. I think it's mostly because I believe my plots to be rather cliched and dull. I know most stories are rewrites of other stories, but at least they are for the most part rewrites of quality.

I'll stick with poetry. It really doesn't take much talent to be a poet.

Hope your camera comes soon :)

Agreed! The trick is to write so cleverly, most of your work becomes original, and people don't mind any recycled material. :)

It doesn't take much talent to be a poet? Hmmm. Guess I'll take that as encouragement to work harder at rhyming. :D
