This Harry Potter meme by [livejournal.com profile] icmezzo looks so much fun, I had to jump on the bandwagon. :)

I gotta say, I love the ending. My sister can definitely be a gatecrasher, but that's a good thing sometimes. :)

Now, off to watch Dexter with my Mom!

Icon Meme!

1. Reply to this post with "fizzigood make feel nice" and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

I was tagged by [livejournal.com profile] rhoda_rants, so here goes! :)

1.
This little gem was made by [livejournal.com profile] icondothat. It's cute and funny, and a constant reminder that I should NEVER have laughed at the prospect of The Hobbit team coming up with a way to put "hot" Dwarves on screen. Never shall I laugh at something like that again.

2.
Ah, Morticia Addams. Pretty much ever since I first saw the TV show (early teens, I think?), I added her to the list of Women I Shall Emulate When I Grow Up. She's dark, witty, elegant, and sophisticated, and if I manage to be half as awesome, I'll die content. (Made the icon myself, BTW.)

3.
Another icon I made. When I first read the scene of rising to the arena in the book, my heart raced. It raced even faster when I saw it played out on screen. The atmosphere, the feel of that scene was NAILED perfectly. I thought my heart my stop, and that's why I thought of this caption. I have a vague feeling it's in a song somewhere.

4.
Just recently made this one. I randomly thought about making icons from the first Captain America movie, and then naturally ended up using an awesome base of Peggy. Need to see the movie again. BTW, who else can't wait for The Winter Soldier? :)

5.
Yay, Darth Sidious, aka my favorite Sith Lord ever. Nobody can beat Darth Vader for pure awesome intimidation, and in the end it was Vader that did Sidious in, but I have a special admiration for just how devious Sidious is. (And I'm not just talking about his obviously evil name.) He's one of the few Sith that, even if you stripped him of his Force abilities, is still an incredibly manipulative and clever force to worry about. Also, people who like to try to Myers-Briggs type fictional characters generally class him as INTJ, and being INTJ myself, I find that fascinating. :)

How this works: Comment with your favorite color and I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better. Update your journal with the answers to the questions. Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.

Pink!

1. Why do you like pink? :D It's fun and appealing and PRETTY, and elicits a wide range of moods and emotions, varying with every shade. :)

2. What's your favourite genre of media (movies, books, etc) and why? I can't decide between period/historical and sci-fi/fantasy. I like them because they are not shackled by normalcy in a modern setting. :D

3. What's an especially vivid memory you've got? Dreaming about listening to my dad complaining about getting into an amusement park, many, many years ago . . . and then actually living through it several years ago. AND EVERY DETAIL WAS SPOT-ON. My dad's tone . . . the words he was using . . . the lighting . . . the car seat I was sitting in. Everything. Freaked me out, because I really don't want prophetic dreams. If I've got that gift/curse, we're in for a very weird and very creepy apocalypse one of these days. I don't dream often (or remember those dreams), but when I do, they're always disturbing and totally lacking in sense and context.

4. Last thing you read? Currently reading Poetry: The Basics, by Jeffrey Wainwright. I never bothered trying to write poetry, and now I'm having to cram a lot of practice in to write a good poem as a plot device for my WIP.

5. Do you have a favourite calligraphic hand? CHANCERY!

I get a kick out of posting stuff from Tumblr on LJ. There's something mischievous about it, somehow . . .

Absolutely! Throughout my preteen and early teen years, I used to have these recurring dreams in which I could float or hover at will, though I could only reach up to the same height as the palm trees in my backyard. Then, strangely, I'd hit an invisible wall. I haven't had any of those dreams for years, though. Now, I've got a story brewing in my mind about winged beings that are neither human nor angel, a species no one has ever named, not even the members of said species themselves.

I'm having way too much fun with this . . . )

1. Comment on this post with I VOLUNTEER!
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Think of 5 fictional characters and post their names and your comments on these characters in your IJ/LJ/DW.

[livejournal.com profile] rhoda_rants gave me the letter G, so here we go!

First off, HOW IN THE WORLD AM I SUPPOSED TO PICK JUST FIVE CHARACTERS?! Arg. This is going to be tough.

1. GANDALF.

Photobucket

Also known as Mithrandir or Olorin. (I love saying Mithrandir aloud.) On the one hand, he's sensible and straightforward; on the other, he's elusive and mysterious. Oh, and also extremely powerful. Not every wizard can battle with a Balrog of Morgoth and live to remember it--much less come back as an ever more powerful Maia than before. Not everybody could refuse to take The One Ring when it was offered, either. I think what I like best about Gandalf is, for all his high knowledge and all his renown among Elves, Men, and wizards, he can still be completely at ease discussing the true meaning behind good morning with a Hobbit.

Pick a word that starts with the first letter of you first name:
Charisma.

Without saying names say something to three people.
What time is it in your time zone?
You can never eat too much chocolate.
What the heck is up with the new YFC album covers, anyway?

Is your profile private?
Nope, I don't think so.

More rambling this way . . . )

Type your answers in Google Images and pick an image off the first page.

The age you will be on your next birthday

Hey, this looks almost as scary as turning 22 will be. (22 is an emotional number for me. My dad's stepmom always used to joke that on her next birthday, she'd be 22. I had always meant to say something witty to her on my 22nd b-day. But she passed away last year. Now I never will.)

A place you'd like to travel

Shucks. I was hoping a screencap of the Hollywood-esque ENGLAND sign from Robin Hood: Men in Tights would show up.

More this way . . . )
gothrockrulz: (nuada)
For once, my accent is categorized as Western American, or normal, as my dad would say. Not British/Australian/what-have-you. (Yes, lately, people have been saying I sound Australian.) Of course, it had to be an online quiz. LOL.

What American accent do you have?
Created by Xavier on Memegen.net

Western. Like Midland, Western is another accent that people consider neutral. So, you might not actually be from the Western half of the country, but you definitely sound like it.

And if you're not from the West, you are probably one of the following:
(a) A Pittsburgher - the quiz can't tell the difference;
(b) Someone from Canada (probably southern Ontario) who doesn't have a Canadian accent;
(c) Someone from northern New England who doesn't have a New England accent; or
(d) Someone from Texas or the Heartland who was born after 1980.
You are definitely not from New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Detroit, the Deep South, etc.

Take this quiz now - it's easy!
We're going to start with "cot" and "caught." When you say those words do they sound the same or different?

1. Favourite childhood book?
Little House in the Big Woods. To put it simply, Laura Ingalls Wilder shaped my character growing up. I am only obsessed with all things old-fashioned because I read and re-read her books till they were falling apart. I also think I owe my love of stories and story-telling to her, because I actually made up extra stories about Laura, before I even knew what fanfiction was. :)

2. What are you reading right now?
Snippets of Pride and Prejudice and The Hobbit, as well as The Midnight Disease by Alice W. Flaherty and various books on ancient Persia and writing YA.

3. What books do you have on request at the library?
Nothing right now.

More of my rambling . . . )

1. Do you believe in Heaven?
Yes, indeed. I'm a Christian, with a mix of conservative and radical beliefs that would probably scare conservatives and radicals alike. And I'll leave it at that. XD

2. Have you ever come close to dying?
I scared myself almost to death a few times while learning to drive. Haven't we all?

3. What jewelry do you wear 24/7?
Nothing 24/7. My most-worn pieces are replica necklaces of Arwen Undomiel's evenstar and the wolf symbol of FFVII. Also, whenever I go to work, I wear a ring with a little pink rhinestone on my left ring finger. I call it my old man repellant--and boy, do I need it! Sadly, it doesn't work with all old guys. Some old guys are bold, I tell you.

Here is the rest . . . )

Okay, [livejournal.com profile] xselfishlovex chose the following five icons for me.

1.
I made this icon for myself from one of my favorites among a long list of favorite blonde Gackt pictures. It's my default icon, I use it a lot, and I have no intention of changing it for a long while yet. :D

Which Egyptian Goddess Are You?
Nephthys
Nephthys
You are Nephthys. As a goddess you are Nephthys who was the personification of darkness and all that belongs to it. The underworld and all things dark are your domain. As a person you are most likely a very tortured soul or at an unending spiritual peace. That all depends on whether you embrace your darkness or find yourself constantly pitted against it. Professionally you'd be a good mortician or politician. Don't worry, its okay to be bad.

Oho, yeah. XD
