gothrockrulz | New Evanescence Album? What Rock Have I Been Living Under? (Reply)

Apparently, Evanescence just released a new album. And I had next to no clue. O.O

I've enjoyed some of Evanescence's songs, but I've never been the type you could mistake as an obsessed fan that knows every little thing you can possibly know, and more. (I can only juggle so many obsessions at once--though I love to challenge myself.) I knew the band split up some time ago, with vocalist Amy Lee going one way and the rest going the other, the latter picking up another vocalist, Carly Smithson, to launch We Are the Fallen. (I'm completely addicted to WAtF's "Bury Me Alive", by the way.) I also had a vague idea that Evanescence was coming back.

But I had no idea it had already happened.

So now I'm listening to said new songs on YouTube, and I'm not sure exactly what verdict to give this album. Since it's Evanescence, it's automatically better than anything I have to endure at work, whether it be at the bowling alley or at the retail store. But still, it's different, and I've become accustomed to a certain feel from their previous songs.

Oh, well. We'll see how I feel in a week or two.

Does anyone on my f-list have any thoughts to add?
