I love playing dress-up. (Obvious statement is obvious.) I've seen a lot of fabulous cosplays for specific characters or people (all my Gackt-obssessed friends are probably thinking with envy of Ghostkiller right now), and now I want to do it, too! For a while, I'd been thinking about buying a Genesis Rhapsodos costume, complete with wig and sword. Finally, I decided to go for it, and started searching the internet.



Who would have thought finding a simple short-cut auburn wig would be SO FREAKING HARD?! I could have sworn that months ago, before I'd decided I was going to get the costume, I saw an awesome red coat, and an awesome wig, and an awesome sword replica for sale online--and for affordable prices, too. Now? Let's just say if I want something nice, I'm going to have to pay through the nose to get it. Or maybe pay a smidgen less for raw materials and make everything myself.

*sigh* Maybe I should just make it easy on myself and go for Tifa's costume instead. Affordable stuff for her costume was maddeningly easy to find. Oh, wait, that's right; I'm flat, and Tifa's, ah, not. Now I remember why I went for a guy's costume in the first place. Complications, complications.

I think I'm going to stick with my elven cloak for now.

Oy. Costume frustrations. I've been saying I'll dress up as Sheik from Legend of Zelda for Halloween for years now, and it never happens. Most of the stuff is easy enough to find, even the red contacts (should I choose to wear contacts, not my top priority really), but that emblem on the front would have to be DIY. Blech. Rhoda Does Not Sew! *pout*

As for Genesis--if you go for Dirge of Cerberus Genesis you could go all black, and a short black wig might be easier to find. Alternatively, wigs can be cut, if it comes to that. OR you could track down Gackt and steal his. (I'm positive he still has it.)

I guess, if I have to, I can get a long wig and cut it--I just think I'm hopeless with cutting hair. Never have done it before.

LOL. Tracking down Gackt and stealing his costume would probably be more time-consuming and expensive than any other option--but it would be a lot of fun. (Down, plotbunnies, down!)
