Writer's Block: Friends forever

[Error: unknown template qotd]

Yes, indeed. Most of the time, they were just people I'd made up to put into stories. Dozens and dozens of characters. I didn't talk to them or hold imaginary tea parties with them or anything like that--but they were still as real and interesting to me as anybody I knew in real life. No, make that more real and interesting. XD

But I never told anybody about them, because my stories and my characters were mine, and I wanted to keep them to myself.

At one point, I did pretend I had an imaginary twin sister named Victoria, and I talked to her for a little while. Then I got bored, because she wasn't as fun as a character in a story, and so I went back to my characters and stories.

Now, I have even more characters living inside my head--so I guess one could say I still have imaginary friends. Unlike my old characters, I talk with my new characters a lot--though, nowadays, it's mostly to yell at them because they're not cooperating, or because they're bringing stuff into the story that I didn't plan on, making more work for me.

Too bad my characters can't write their own stories. They only seem capable of complicating mine.

Heh. One of the things I sometimes tell people is that I still have imaginary friends, only now I call them "characters" and write them into manuscripts. I was a very...imaginative child, I guess is the nice way to put it. Easily distracted, prone to day-dreaming, often got in trouble in school for staring off into space and not paying attention.

I'm still easily distracted. LOL! I hate being confined to a schedule--I just want to have all day, every day free to daydream and write to my heart's content. :) Speaking of which, I have a scene to write . . .
