Sorry you had an awkward-at-best holiday. I tried not to post about it too much, except for Star Wars-related silliness.

I just finished N. K. Jemison's The City We Became and it's amazing! Five very special New Yorkers each get chosen to represent their respective boroughs (plus one more, but explaining that is kind of a spoiler) and save the city from an Eldritch creature trying to take over the world. It's over 400 pages, but it's nicely fast-paced.
