Today I showed my mom and sis the music videos for "Knives and Pens" and "The Legacy," since since they love the songs but hadn't seen the videos. "The Legacy" looks AMAZING on a large flatscreen TV, ZOMG.

And then FB actually did something useful and let me know that today is the 5th anniversary of BVB's "We Stitch These Wounds." Lovely timing!

Okay, that does it, THIS is my favorite Jupiter song so far. I was expecting good, but MAN YOU GUYS TOTALLY OUTDID YOURSELVES. Excuse Gothie while she fangirls and completely forgets about organizing her closet.

This has been out for three weeks, and I just discovered it now. *sigh* So much new music, so little time!

gothrockrulz: (zomg!)

OH. MAH. GAWD. This song has blown me away. Teru, I'm in love with your guitar solo, and ZIN, I wantz your eyelashes NOW. Hizaki, I want to steal your entire wardrobe, as always. Excuse me while I listen to this on loop forever.

And here I'm already fangirling over Within Temptation's "HYDRA", which just came in the mail this week. I don't know what's more awesome, listening to their original songs, or their covers. Literally, I cannot fathom the awesomeness that is this band, even if they are my favorite of favorites. :)

Speaking of favorites, I'm going to make lyric videos of "Let Us Burn" and the "Radioactive" cover. We'll see how long that takes.

Now, off I go to write. I'm really, really intimidated right now, since I fear my WIP will need major restructuring into a trilogy (did I say that already?), but at this point, I want it done. Even if it's crap, I wanted it to be finished crap, rather than unfinished crap.

My brothers introduced me to this band's music. And, boy, am I glad they did! Slowly going through their discography (over a period of months, thanks to all my other obsessions taking up so much time). Anybody else on my f-list like these guys, too?
gothrockrulz: (moreblonde)

Don't mind me, or my bucket of tears, I'll just be sitting here sobbing. Love the song, but the video and story behind it is a little more than I can deal with right now.

Whee, I've been obsessed with GACKT for 3 crazy years now, thanks to this song! (If any of you do not know who that is, just rest assured he's a ridiculously talented moron that ruins your life while inspiring you at the same time.)

I move, work, and read books like crazy for a month, and when I try to catch up on fandoms, I'm overwhelmed.

ALSKHGALSIFLASDHKGALSDJFLAKSDGHASFJSKDFALSDJFLJKASDHGWEIAFJDAJFSDSLDKFJOWEIFLSJDFS. Part of me is too overwhelmed to even listen, and part of me wishes it was darker, with a harder metal edge. Still, I'm in love. Fantastic!

Meanwhile, in Visual Kei . . . )

As they say on tumblr, meanwhile, MISHA! )

I'm still in shock that Mana and Kamijo collaborated. Not that I thought they never would--it's just something that never occurred to me. But I'm glad it's happened. Never, ever going to get tired of this style of Visual Kei. NEVER!

This goth J-rock fan has no words. BRB, flailing.

This song is disturbing on so many levels, but it's just so good. Me, my brothers, and my mom were all headbanging in unison driving home this evening (except the bro who was driving). LOL, it was pretty funny. And we definitely needed a break.

I've probably listened to this song several hundred times just in the last few days. It seems to perfectly describe the mood I've had for the last year or so, what with a lot of developments (mostly unwelcome) unfolding in my personal life (mostly family-related). Also, I'm starting to feel it describes the moods we creative types go through. Even when the muse is willing and working, trying to capture thought and emotion in words or pictures is a battle.
gothrockrulz: (zomg!)

I can't begin to say how glad I am to be addicted to J-rock. <3

Today marks the 13th anniversary of Gackt's Vanilla PV, originally released August 11th, 1999. (I'm probably at least a day behind on this, due to time differences, but it matters not.) I've been celebrating all week! (And my friend has been shaking her head and saying my obsession skills should never be underestimated. LOL.)

Rock on, everyone!

Can EPICA possible grow more awesome?

Can I just gush about this song for the next hour or so? Love the video, love Sharon's dress, love Sharon's voice, love, love, love the lyrics. Interestingly enough, when you look at the lyrics written or typed out on a page, they seem deceptively simple and plain (at least to me). But sung by Sharon's voice, they seem to take on a much deeper meaning. My imagination takes off.
