How is everybody? Hope you are all having a lovely day. :)

I'm off to work in a couple hours, so I'd better make sure I've got something green and clean. I'm likely to slap any moron that tries to pinch me. Better to avoid that altogether and just wear green like everybody else.

In the meantime, I'll be fangirling hardcore over Tokio Hotel. Honestly, this is a great time to jump into the fandom for the first time. I am seriously in love with Bill's latest "Victorian vampire" outfit for DSDS. Wow.

May you all have a fabulous 2013!

And God bless us, every one!

This song has fascinated me for months. And it also gives my Mom plotbunnies. :)

May you relish a great day filled with song and laughter as well as food!

Tomorrow will be a busy and tiring day (at first, at least), so I'm sending my greetings now while I can. Even though Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, thanks to all the food preparation, it's also pretty exhausting. Wish I could make it last longer! Thanksgiving seems to get the short end of the stick, being dwarfed by Halloween before and Christmas after. Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only person that thinks of Thanksgiving not only as a day of thanks, but a day of rest and serenity (after the cooking). This time of year always feels calming and soothing, somehow, in spite of everything else happening. A much-needed wind-down, to allow time to catch breath, and then actually enjoy each breath. :)

Last year at work, I dressed up as a gothic princess for Halloween. (I never really dressed up much for Halloween before, but I had to take my chance to dress all-out medieval goth in public for once.) I think I'll do the same thing this year, but with extra. A friend of mine gave me the inspiration to do my eyeliner so that it looks like I've got a cobweb in the corner of each eye.

And now Hyde, pictured below, is inspiring me to add extra details along the mouth as well. Also, sir, I must have nails just like yours IMMEDIATELY. That electric blue is driving me insane! (This is one of the visible changes J-rock has worked in me. Before I got obsessed with Gackt, Hyde, etc., I was indifferent to make-up and nail polish. But as soon as I saw a boy pulling it off really well, I wanted in, too. Not the usual boy-related motivation for a girl to try make-up, but then, I never was usual . . .)

In other news not dominated by J-rock, I was fangirling yesterday over a pair of Supernatural rings, which I'd bought on Etsy, that came in the mail. (If you haven't visited Etsy, fair warning: IT IS VERY, VERY DANGEROUS. ESPECIALLY TO NERDS.) If/when I take the plunge and try to sell stuff on Etsy myself, I'm convinced that any pittance I make will immediately go straight back into buying more fandom treasures. Gah, those rings are so gorgeous! I'm wearing them as I type. :D (And also trying not to think about any possible psychological implications that might be drawn from a girl wearing rings with the names of fictional characters inscribed along the inside. ROFL.)

PARTY ON

To my fellow Americans: Happy 4th of July! I wish there was no such confining thing as distance, and we could all just plop down on a couch and watch National Treasure and Independence Day together. And vote on whether Riley Pool or Sean Bean's character is the best part of the movie. (I vote Sean Bean, anyway. Always Sean Bean.) No need to vote on the best part of Independence Day--hands down, that's Will Smith talking about wanting to be at a barbecue instead of fighting aliens.

To my fellow Gackt fans: *HUGS* Gah, this is one emotional b-day, for him and his fans. I was close to crying reading [livejournal.com profile] amaia's translation of his b-day blog post--and I pride myself my ability to avoid getting all mooshy and stuff.

Maybe I'll read a few pages of The Federalist Papers or something today. (I actually enjoy reading it--when I can tear myself away from reading fiction or stuff about ancient Egypt and ancient Gaul.) I feel like doing something special, especially since there's a chance I might miss fireworks this evening. I'm closing at work, and while we close at 8, if it's been rough, we might not even get out of there till 9. I'm crossing my fingers that business will be dead today--especially after 6 p.m. Maybe then corporate will see fit to not insist on keeping the store open as late as possible.

I know--I'll read The Federalist Papers while listening to my Mars album. :D

Stay classy, everybody!

Night owl that I am, I haven't been up this early in ages. I dropped my brother off for a road trip at 5:15, and now I can't fall back to sleep. (Love it when that happens!) Am I the only one thinking that a small group of college boys road tripping in a minivan is funny? Tell me I'm not!

As for more real life stuff, not much is going on. (I kinda like it that way. Leaves more time for reading and writing.)

Happy Father's Day, everyone! Enjoy a day of chilling in front of the TV. :)

And not just to my own Mom, but to all mothers out there. May you be appreciated every day of every year, not just today.

Whether you're American or not, hope y'all have a restful, stress-free day! (And if you are American, please tell me you're not one of those people camping out in tents before it's even close to midnight.)
